Swim lessons

Josie has been bugging me to take swim lessons for a while, so I finally signed her up at the Goldfish Swim School. I wasn't sure how she would do because swim lessons last summer didn't go so well and sometimes Josie opts to not participate at things she really likes because is gets mad that I am spending 1 on 1 time with Ruth when she is doing whatever activity it is. But she kept asking so I figured we would give it a try. We watched the facility tour video many many times before her first class and she was very excited. Ruth wore her bathing suit also just in case Josie chickened out and they had an extra spot.

She loves it!!! The facility is just awesome and Josie's favorite part is that the moms come onto the pool deck for the last 5 minutes and the kids each get to choose something to show us.

Sick, sick, sick

These 2 have spent much of 2016 so far feeling pretty under the weather :( I'm hoping we have a healthier spring!

More Sugarin' pics

We had to purchase many interesting things as part of the true sugarin process, one of which was this support for the filters that you pour the boiling sap through. It also makes a nice hat for someone pretending to be a robot.

The first batch we had filtered using one of those reusable coffee filters. When the kids were awake we always had eager taste testers :)

Thankfully, this happened when they were asleep. After about 8 hours of reducing one day, the glass pan exploded.

But all in all we ended up with a good amount of syrup!

Happy Retirement

The Harris clan all celebrated Beba's retirement!

This is the cake that Josie chose to bake for the occasion.
