Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving with The Neilan's this year.

If Josie knew how to write, she would have written that she is thankful for "cookies".

I forgot to bring my camera charger with me, so these are all pictures that Tif took.

Dance Class

Ella's dance school had observation week last week where the parents, or whoever could come into class and sit during the class to watch (rather than peeking in the windows). Ella loves dance class!

Josie, trying to get in on the action...

There was a good amount more of showing off this week because all the parents were watching (including several dads and grandparents) and there were many times during class when it seemed like Ella was the only one not doing what she was supposed to be doing, but looking back at the pictures, there are many where I have no idea what they are supposed to be doing because they all are doing something completely different! Junes recital should be interesting.

Here we go again!

Looks like its time for a minivan!

Another thumb sucker.

Baby gave us a high five a little tongue sticking out and was very fiesty!

Musical Chairs

Somehow Omi got roped into playing several rounds of musical chairs with some toys this weekend.

New Curtains

I found (or Tif may have showed me) some directions on how to stencil your own curtain panels using super cheap ikea curtains. I was feeling too overwhelmed by shopping for fabric that already existed, so somehow making my own fabric seemed easier.

So I ordered the stencils from here. The stencil I picked was "parsley" though Ella calls them snowflakes. I used a picture of the rug to choose acrylic paint at the craft store, got some fabric medium to mix with it, had Nate set me up a little work space in the kitchen with his sawhorses and got to work.  Because I used so many colors and the panels were so big in comparison to the table, it took me a full month to make them, one week per color. Then it took us another week to hang them up because, you know, thats just the way life goes. But here they are all finished. I'm really happy with how they came out! I would definitely not hesitate to try it again.

If you want to borrow the stencil, you are more than welcome.

Daddy/ Big Girl day out

We had gone to the Boston Children's Museum when the Padgett's visited a while ago and because Ella was pretty much rushed through everything because the little ones were too busy and then too cranky, Nate promised to take her back for a special day out. She has been patiently waiting, occasionally asking when they would go and finally, we didn't seem to have any "pressing" home improvement projects going on that they went this weekend!

She was so excited! Nate's passes that he had allowed them to get in an hour before opening time. I think they were there for over 6 hours and that was with one of the cool attractions closed for renovations! This was when they left in the morning and I think she was just as excited to tell me all about everything they did when they got home! I'm glad they had such a fun day together.

Baby Mark meets the family, has his first bath, and a photo shoot.

Ella was very intrigued with the baby and really wanted to hold him, but he was too comfy with his great nanny. Maybe next time we see him....

It was determined that his hair was too greasy for a photo session so he needed to have his first bath first.

He wasn't a huge fan.

He already needs a haircut!

I was very excited to get to practice my photography skills again. My lovely assistant, Nate, took this one though while I was practicing my baby holding skills.

It became clear pretty quickly that he was way too awake to tolerate laying on the coffee table for pictures. Nanny H: 1; Erin: 0

Pretty bright eyed for a 4 day old!

By the end he really seemed like he had a lot to say!

We can't wait to see you again soon, Mark!
