Fancy Shirts

Melissa gave the girls these adorable shirts. I thought Josie's would be a little big (3-6 month size) but Ella asked to wear her shirt the other day, so I figured I would just try Josie's on to see how it fit, and since she is a giant baby, it fit perfectly! SO then I asked Ella if I could take their picture and she agreed to play with Josie on our bed.... this seems to be where they like to play together the best.

Thanks Melissa! Great idea!

I scream you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

A trip to Matunuck wouldn't be complete without stopping at the Vanilla Bean.

Ella ate all her strawberry and sprinkle ice cream...

and then she moved on to mine...

but she did offer me a taste.

1 month stats

Josie had her one month check up today and as expected did great. SHe got just one shot and took it like a champ. She is 11lb 2 oz (86%ile) and is 23 1/4 inches tall (99%ile)

Josie is bigger than Ella was at her 1 month follow up. Ella was 9 lb 7 oz and was 22 3/4 inches long!

Beach Bum

We all went to the beach to pick up Ella together. Josie really enjoyed lounging on the porch at Beba and Papa's. She didn't make it to the beach. We were afraid that she might get sand in her eye... maybe next time!

Ella's trips

Ella got very good behavior reports from all her grandparents! These are some of the picture texts we received during her 4 days away. She got to go to the zoo, the beach, the pool, and several playgrounds, ice cream shoppes and restaurants.

We are so glad that she had fun and that she got some great quality time with her grandparents, but we are so glad to have her back home!

Blueberry Picking

My dad came up to pick up Ella for her vacation at their house. We decided that blueberry picking was a good activity to tire her out for the car ride home.

Here she is enticing me to try one.

As usual, note her shoe choice.

Taste testing. She did pick many more berries than she did last summer!

Dad is planning on making a lot of pancakes, they picked over 3 pounds of berries!

We had a delicious brunch with the Kilgore family last weekend, and while there are no pictures of us eating, there are lots of pictures of us playing outside...

And while the moms got to play outside on this sunny 95 degree day, the dads got to stay inside the air conditioning and supervise the babies (no pictures of them either).

We are all home safe and sound after a long day at Boston Children's Hospital (we should mention that all the staff could not have been any nicer). Josie's cataract surgery was scheduled for 11am, but because of a few hold ups involving the previous surgery and missing specialized equipment, they took her in to her surgery at 2ish pm. Right around 4, the doctor came out to tell us everything went well and that the nurse would come get us when she started waking up and he will see us tomorrow to change the bandage, and give us the eye drops we will need to be using for the next week. We couldn't resist taking just a couple pictures.

Here is Josie in her Johnny Gown. She doesn't take a nunnie usually, but when you have to go 9 hours without eating, it'll do.

Josie came out of anesthesia pretty easily it seemed. She had some sugar water, we reviewed discharge orders with the nurse, and they sent us on our way. Here she is in the car on the way home. I'm glad they put pink padding on the eye shield.

We got this cheerful text from Taylor! Thanks everyone for all your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. We know we are at the beginning of a long journey here, but it helps to know we have so many people who love us!

Waiting her turn

With huggie from big sister Ella!

Ella's vacation

Ella is on her way to CT with my dad right now for a couple days and then will be joining Beba and Papa in RI for a couple days for her own big girl vacation while Josie is in surgery and the first couple days of recovery. Her constant chatter, though hilarious, is often exhausting, but the house is already too quiet without her! I'm sure everyone will have a great time.

Just to give an update, Josie's surgery isn't scheduled until 11am tomorrow. We will get an update out as soon as we can.

1 Month

It is so hard to believe that Josie is 1 month old already! It seems like just yesterday we were heading to the hospital waiting to find out if she was a boy or a girl, but also it feels like she has always been a part of our family. Happy Birthday Jo-Jo.

And I can't take credit for these pillows, my Aunt Chris made them for the girls, and they match everything in their room perfectly!
