Busy Bathroom

Even though our bathroom is the smallest, it is by far the busiest room of the house!

Big Helper

Ella is a great big sister and helper. She loves to "hold" Josie. She will ask to help give her a bottle, and loves to help change her diapers. SHe gets right in there with the wipes and everything! Josie is very lucky to have such a great big sister.

First Tubbie

Josie wasn't so much a fan of that bath, but she loved having her hair scrubbed and rinsed.

24 hours and outa here!

Josie's favorite napping place. (and mine too)

We were anxious to get home to Ella and get moving into life as a family of 4 so we requested an early discharge since we were both doing so well. Josie got to go home a little more than 24 hours after being born. She wore the same outfit that Ella wore, though she was a lot less dramatic about being put into her carseat!

Outnumbered

Nate is now way outnumbered at our house...

These pictures are all partially blurry, but I like parts of all of them only I'm not good enough to be able to put the parts together for one good photo. Ella was the first visitor to meet Josie and they both had their little sister and big sister shits on. Ella climbed right up and wanted to hold her. She was a little confused though and when Josie was too boring for her liking, promptly asked where "baby Paul" was. Paul was going to be Josie's name if she had been a boy.

Hospital Pictures

I have been pretty slow at getting these pictures up. Things have been pretty busy around here, but we are finally a little more settled in. Here are pictures from Josie's first couple hours of life.

At first we thought her hair was curly, but its not!

I could have put forth a little effort and lifted my head off the pillow here...

Home

We are home. We are all doing well and adjusting to life as a family of 4. We are unpacking and getting  settled back in. I hope to have some hospital pictures up later.

Ella is enjoying being a big sister so far. SHe is very interested in Josie for very short periods of time. She also changed her name to Abby while we were at the hospital.

Wards Berry Farm

I guess I should say that we were at Wards Berry Farm in Sharon for the day. There were some other things besides the berries to entertain us including lots of baby animals and a fun playground!

By the end we had given up on the basket all together and she was just eating strawberries.... She wouldn't even look at me to take her picture because she was too busy eating. We got enough at least to make some strawberry shortcake for father's day.

I wonder if this is what the doctor had in mind when she told me that me only task for the weekend was to "take it easy"?

Welcome Josie Francesca

We are proud to welcome the newest member to our family today! Josie was born at 1:27pm at 20 1/2 inches long and 8 lb 13 oz. (shorter but heavier than Ella)

We had come in for an induction on Sunday night and received the prepAt about 10 pm. We were supposed to wait 12 hours and then begin pitocin. However at about 4 am my contractions started getting pretty intense. I had been only 1 cm at 10 and then just under 2 cm at like 1 an or so. So I wasn't expecting much at 7 when they checked again but I was 8 cm! The doctor said if I had wanted an epidural I should get it then so I did and things seemed to calm down some though progress never stopped like it did last time. The baby was not wanting to drop into position but we were just waiting for that last cm for a whole and we were both napping.

So at 1:20 the doctor said we were ready to push and1 1/2 pushes later the nurse said to stop. I thought something was wrong but it was just so we could wait for the doctors to arrive! Then 1 push and the doctor said to stop because the cord was loosely wrapped around the neck and the doctor needed to move it. 1 more push and Nate yelled out "it's another girl"

We all are doing great!

All tangled up

Strawberries for Sal

Ella loves the book "Blueberries for Sal" so when we went strawberry picking Saturday, she knew just what to do. She also would only answer to us if we called her "little Sal".
