Woods Hole Aquarium

We went down to the cape with Lauren, Ryan and the kids for the weekend and decided to make a trip to the aquarium at Woods Hole. We got there before they opened, so the kids were climbing statues.

And we got to watch the Harbor Seal training session.... Ella isn't so good at watching "presentations" as soon as we saw the animals for 20 seconds, she was walking away saying "let's see what else we can find".

The hands on pool was a big hit. It looks like Nate is tackling her because she is trying to climb in and go swimming.

This girl loves fish!

New Kitchen

We had a few issues with the microwave, mostly with removing the old one, so we needed to wait for my dad and his tools to make a trip up. I was too busy being the lovely assistant to take amy pictures of that, but here is everything all hooked up (and working)! Thanks Dad, and Aunt Chris and Uncle Lance. We owe you all a nice meal on clean dishes!

Nate's "vacation"

While Ella and I were on vacation in RI, Nate got to remove and install kitchen appliances. My Aunt and Uncle generously gave us their gently used appliances since they were remodeling their kitchen, and their appliances were way better than ours....

Nate needed to put in a new electrical outlet to install the dishwasher...

Our neighbor, Chris helped.

I think this is when they realized they needed to make ANOTHER trip to Home Depot.

Completed project pics tomorrow...

Cheese, Please!

Ella loves to eat cheese. Sometimes she prefers cheese sticks, but other times all she wants is a plain old "piece of cheese." Kate was quite amused by how she would ask for cheese, so this video is for you, Auntie Kate.

Happy Birthday Ella

Our sweet baby girl is 2 today! She has certainly developed quite the personality over the past year. She thinks she is funny and will repeat things/ jokes that she thinks are funny. She can be very stubborn at times but continues to be a pretty easy going kid. She has a great memory for people we visit, places we go, and various special routines we have. She cracks us up everyday! We can't wait to see what the next year will bring.

RI Vacation: Day 6- back to Matunuck

Ella has mastered walking up and down the stairs by herself! Then wet got ready for another day at the beach!

The surf was huge because of a big storm off the coast, so again, no swimming.

It's amazing how vacant the beach becomes right after labor day. We were just about the only die-hards on the beach.

Sandy hands.

Shane had some nice napping in the tent.

Day 7 was just clean up, pack up and check out. We did go back to the beach for a couple hours, but I didn't take any more pictures...

RI Vacation: Day 5- 3rd day of rain

By this point, we were literally climbing the walls...

and rearranging small appliances.

We felt it was a good time to show Ella her first full length feature film. "Finding Nemo" was at the house so we popped it in. Unfortunately Ella was not interested and only sat for like 45 seconds and then was climbing around and playing with other toys and asking to watch Team UmiZoomi instead.

The weather did clear up in the afternoon, so we got out asap, drive down to Watch Hill and decided walked out to this lighthouse.

This wasn't nearly as dangerous as the photo makes it seem.

We also walked around the downtown to buy ice cream and sweatshirts for the kids. Ella picked one of the shelf, held it up to her as if the check the size, and then said "Mommy, I buy this one."

Shane had his daily photoshoot.

Beba and Debbie arrived for the weekend, apparently bringing the nice weather with them, and came over for dinner.

Nate came back too. You think he'd look more excited to be done with work for the week. He always has a brooding look in pictures.

RI Vacation: Day 4- 2nd day of rain

We went to the Providence Children's Museum on Wednesday to escape some more rain. It was great, hands on, and surprisingly different than the Boston Children's Museum (which we also like). I was more excited about this giant light brite board than Ella was.

Shane wasn't too into the light board either...

Of course the water room was a huge hit!

That had a little grocery store set up, and Ella promptly rearranged all the produce in a line on the shelves...

There was a giant ship to climb on.

And of course construction vehicles.

Later at home, Shane got to have another photo shoot when Ella was sleeping. He is a very cooperative subject!
