A walk to the beach

My photography assignments pretty much all have required taking pictures outside. Unfortunately since it was raining for 2 weeks, it was difficult to find something creative to do. Nate, Ella, and I took a walk to Mago Point Beach to do the assignment. I don't usually dress so colorfully, but I of course packed plenty of clothes for everyone else but myself and had to borrow warmer clothes to wear! What a gray day it was.

Ella's coffee

Ella and Taylor have personalized mugs at Omi's house. Of course since there is only one handle, Ella will only use one hand to hold the cup (even though when there are no handles she will still hold it normal...) Anyway, she also thinks that any drink that comes in a cup with one handle is coffee!

Sandtable

Omi and Pop got a sand and water table, and Ella can't get enough of it. She takes her shoveling very seriously!

Happy Birthday Pop

I couldn't find a recent photo of Ella and Pop that hadn't already been posted, so here is a nice one from January to make us all thankful that the sun was shining today!

Getaway Weekend

Nate and I went with Lauren and Ryan to the Wakefield Inn in New Hampshire for the weekend through a great deal we got from living social. Our stay included 2 breakfasts, dinner, massages, and cooking classes with the chef. The weather was pretty bad, but we did manage to do some antiquing. We didn't take many pictures (I took this one from the website...). Ella stayed with all of her grandparents and had a great weekend it sounds like. We had a nice time away and as always enjoyed catching up with good friends!

For the 20 minutes the sun came out all weekend, Nate and I sat outside and had some tea. There were some chickens running around.

Rainy weather

The past 2 weeks of rain have really put a damper on our activities and picture taking.... really there isn't any.... please sunshine come back. Or as Ella would say "Suuunnnnn, where are you?!...."

The afterparty

Ella was not so much into having her picture taken... It was all very dramatic, as is everything Ella does these days.

But Taylor was perfectly happy being passed around between her great grandmas!

Taylors Baptism

Taylor was baptized last weekend in Niantic, CT at a nice private and personal ceremony, which was very different from the group service that our church offers. Her Godparents are me and Clint Jr.

Taylor was a very good girl for the service and fell asleep as soon as the readings began, and remained sleeping even for the water pouring portion of the ceremony!

Ella was as good as a toddler can be expected to be at church especially since Nate wasn't there and I was busy with my Godmothering duties! She did manage to entice Great Grandma Jean to play with her babies.

Our new room

Here is our new room. Yes the bed is really high off the ground. We got risers for it- you should see all the stuff that fits under there. And yes, all our stuff was moved form the huge closet to the smaller closet! That is our new patio furniture so we can enjoy some cocktails outside- unfortunately it has rained the entire 2 weeks since we obtained access to the porch, so we haven't been able to enjoy that yet. We apologize for bringing this rainy weather to all of New England!

poor choice

I made a pretty bad decision though when I hung Ellas coat rack next to her bed. Every time I get her up from a nap, she has all the coats off and is usually partially wearing one or more!

Music to my ears

Ella entertained herself pretty well while we were busy with the move. The mess, and seeing us carrying around and taking apart her bed etc totally did not phase her at all! I think she has a future playing the organ at church.

Switching rooms

Nate and I decided to switch rooms with Ella, so that she would have the larger room (and closet) and be able to keep all her toys in there since they had sort of spread through the entire condo. And we would have the smaller room (and closet), but also access to the porch. We initially had intended to wait for the prep for a potential baby #2 to do the big move, but we figured with summer coming, cocktails on the porch would outweigh having a tiny bedroom. Plus, the small room is so dark, even during the day, that Ella never played much in there anyway, hence all the toys in the living room... This was how I chose to spend Mother's Day, by the way, and it took a full 12 hours!

At first Ella thought we had bought her a jungle gym!

All the clothes that we needed to smoosh into a rather small closet! We hadn't gotten to moving the artwork on the walls or anything that day. That has all since been moved.

Photo Booth

Tif told me that Taylor likes to look at herself in the photobooth program on our computer, so I figured I would see how Ella liked it. She really liked making silly faces together and taking our picture!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's and mom's to be out there. I was able to begin my mother's day bright and early this morning with a manic toddler at 1:30 am running around crying and screaming  looking for "PINK". Thanks Ella....

Lollipop part 2

Here are the lollipop pictures that Kiera took. She was so happy with the giant pop. I love the last one how you can see the broken pieces all over the ground!

lollipop

Ella and I went in to town for Kiera to do another photo shoot now that the weather is finally nice. I brought some toys, and treats to in case she wasn't in the mood for taking pictures, but she was, so we brought out the giant lollipop from Easter at the very end. I didn't take many pictures while we were in the public garden since I was corralling Ella and pushing the stroller, but I did take this one picture with the lollipop, right before she dropped it and it shattered all over the bricks beneath her!

I salvaged a small amount of pop still on the stick and let her have it back (I licked the dirt off... true love) but she kept looking at the pieces all on the ground saying "It's Broken. I Sad" It was so sad.... but in all honesty I think it would have taken her about 2 months straight to actually eat the whole thing...
