Amy and I are always looking for good places to meet (other than the Maine outlets) and found Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury MA. We went for apple picking and a picnic.
I love Ellas face in this picture!
She soon realized that it would take a little more effort to pick up the pumpkins. Summer is over. It's time for a new header!
Beautiful view from the picnic tables of the orchard.
These have got to be the coolest tire swings I have ever seen! Ella did not like the ones with "hair".

Nate and Mike have been planning on hiking the Metacomet trail for about a year now. A couple months ago, Melissa and I came to the realization that they are, in fact, going to do this! They had planned on hiking from Saturday to Saturday. I dropped them off in Berlin, CT at the start of the trail. Ella and I are on our own for the week, and while I'm looking forward to be able to go to bed early (Nate always convinces me to stay up too late while he finishes up work), we can't wait to see him next Saturday!
Here is the beginning of the trail. I thought there would be a big "start here" sign or something....
Of course Nate and Mike are not off the grid during this hike- they have a blog to chronicle their journey.

We went out for ice cream at a farm that makes their own with all the Harris family. Ice cream ended in tears as usual (it always runs out) but she loved seeing all the animals up close!
"I'd like to take this one home, please."

Our baby girl is 1 year old today!
This year has gone by so fast, and I can't believe that only 1 year ago she was a little 8 pound bundle who we didn't even know yet. Now she is a sassy little thing with a mind of her own. She is quite the little jokester and cracks herself (and us) up on a daily basis. I can't wait to see what the next year will bring!

Ella looks like such a big girl now. She can go down the slide by herself! (though I have to be too close to be able to take her pictures when we are alone still) She still looks pretty little in comparison to the other kids at the playground.
She still loves the swings!

I got to take a trip to CT to see Jen and the twins last week. This is one of Amelias last days at the hospital. She is home now! She was so cute and alert and I think wondering why I was not looking at her right here... I think that Amelia is the littlest baby I have ever held. She weighed about 4.5 pounds here and was about 5 weeks old! I saw Emma too, but only for a minute or two. She has a pretty busy schedule and stopped by only for a few minutes for a quick meet and greet, no time for photos.
Looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

Ella knows that she is only allowed to have her "huggie" at naptime and bedtime. The reason mainly is that she chews on the antlers so much that they smell really quickly if she has it more than for just sleeping. So now she has become sneaky. If I am doing something in the kitchen or living room she will go into her room and I can hear her playing for a minute and then she will be quiet... all of a sudden i will see her walking down the hall with her huggie and pacifier. Usually I hear her before she gets that far because there is a rattle in the giraffe. It is really cute how much she loves it, and she is bound and determined to have it!

Pat and Tif gave Ella her birthday gift early. While I thought that she would be far more interested in the wrapping than the gift, I wasn't really prepared for her to be even more interested in the CARD. Ella would not put down the card and didn't even want to look into the giftbag. She was not enticed by the crinkling of tissue paper. And she has been walking around carrying, talking to, and kissing this card ever since! For those of you coming to her party, it might be longer than anticipated...

I gave a toast that was pretty excellent if I do say so myself. The execution could have used some improvement however since I was only able to make it through about 5 words before I started crying and then could hear my brothers yelling things like "pull it together!" "come on" I did eventually pull it together, and the rest of the toast was pretty good... but not really what I had hoped.
Dad can always be counted on to get a party started!
Here is an interesting Neilan huddle that I witnessed at the end of the night. Not sure what this was all about, but still cute. They are probably scheming how they are going to get dad up into the party suite undetected...

Only one person drove by and yelled "Don't do it!" Seriously!!!!?
My favorite picture of every wedding is the bride and groom at the end of the ceremony walking up the isle. So happy and ready to celebrate!
me and my bros. I have to give a big thank you to them for taking all the pictures and video of the ceremony!

Nate and our friend Sarah provided the music for the ceremony. They played mostly a Beatles Medley as guests were seated, and then Nate played and sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as the bridal party walked in. He refrained from wearing a fat suit to make it look more authentic, thankfully.
Here is Julies mom and brothers! I love this picture.
And here is Ella and I. We didn't attempt any walking for this. Ella was woken from a nap (after her all nighter) and still had lines from the sheets on her face, and had not eaten... it was a miracle she did as well as she did!

It was a beautiful day! HUrricane Earl left in his wake clear skies and gorgeous waves!
Ella came to chill with the girls in the morning so Nate could sleep. She had pulled a rare all nighter the night before... too excited for the big day perhaps, or maybe her new milestone of walking had something to do with it...
Here is the bride getting ready.
I love this picture of the photographer in action and Julie getting her Jewels on.
Here she is all ready. No all she has to do is climb out that window and wait for prince charming!... no seriously that was the plan....
